| The Palm Springs Health Spa at 5500 Kingsway near Grimmer Street, built about 1964. Another of my favourites, I was delighted to discover that although the business name had changed, and the statue was moved a little closer to the road, the man with the weight of the world on his shoulders was still there. The second picture was of one of my fellow photographers A.J. 'Stoo' Born, in search of a unique angle. If I get around to it, I'm going to ask Stoo if he will accompany me out there to recreate that shot. Wouldn't that be fun?? (Despite the library crediting both pictures to John McCarron, this is not true!) |
