PHOTO COLLECTIONS

The Communications 499 Project - Fall of 1976
While a student at Simon Fraser University, I took part in an interesting project. The Burnaby Public Library was setting up an archives, and wanted to document mid-1970s Burnaby for inclusion in the collection. It was an enjoyable and creative time in my life. I've taken some new photos to go along with the originals, and there's also some photo essays.

Festival du Bois in Maillardville - March 2008
A celebration of francophone and Québécois culture in a fun, community environment. Audiences both francophone and non-francophone alike, are invited to one of BC's premier celebrations of francophone music, dance, craft, food, heritage and culture. The festival also incorporates a melting pot of folk and world music artists into its eclectic fold.

Folk Alliance Conference in Austin - February 2006
Around since 1989, the North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance has over 2000 members worldwide. It's annual conference is one of the five largest music conferences in North America. In 2006, it was held in Austin Texas, one of the most musical cities on the continent, and one of the most interesting and enjoyable too.

Cuba - December 2004
Jim Burnett and I arrived in Veradero, about 90 miles east of Havana, on December 6th, 2004. The next morning, we headed off to Trinidad, about a five hour bus ride east. After a couple of days there, we got back on the bus, and journeyed to Santiago de Cuba. Five days later, we flew to Havana, just in time for the Havana Jazz Festival. It was all great.
